Premium Hybrid Bajra (Millet) Seed – 2.5kg Pack
Maximize your yield with our high-performance Hybrid Bajra Seeds. Specifically engineered for superior grain production, this 2.5kg pack is designed for growers who prioritize high output, uniform growth, and premium grain quality.
Key Features & Benefits:
- Superior Grain Yield: This hybrid variety is bred to produce larger panicles (heads) and heavier grains, ensuring maximum profit per acre.
- Uniform Maturity: Engineered for consistent plant height and synchronized ripening, making the harvesting process efficient and easy.
- Disease & Pest Resistance: High natural tolerance against common blights and pests, ensuring a healthier crop and reducing the need for intensive chemical interventions.
- Strong Standing Ability: Features a robust stalk structure that resists lodging (falling over) even in windy conditions, protecting your harvest.
- Optimized for Seed Production: This variety focuses energy on grain development rather than just foliage, resulting in high-density, nutrient-rich seeds.
Production Technology
Bajra Production Technology & Cultivation Guide
1.Soil and Climate Requirements:
• Soil: Bajra performs best in well-drained sandy loam or light textured soils. It is sensitive to waterlogging, so ensure the field has good drainage.
• Climate: It is a warm-weather crop. Ideal temperatures for growth range between 25°C and 35°C. It is highly drought-tolerant, making it perfect for arid and semi-arid regions.
2. Land Preparation
• The field should be brought to a fine tilth by 1–2 deep ploughings followed by harrowing and leveling.
• Ensure the seedbed is firm and free of weeds to promote uniform germination.
3. Sowing Details
• Time of Sowing: * Kharif (Rainy Season): June to July (with the onset of monsoon).
• Summer: February to March (under irrigated conditions).
• Seed Rate: 4–5 kg per hectare (approx. 2.5–3 kg per acre).
• Spacing: * Row-to-row: 45 cm
• Plant-to-plant: 10–15 cm
• Sowing Depth: 2–3 cm. Deep sowing can hinder germination.
4. Nutrient Management
To maximize the 1.5kg pack potential, use the following fertilizer balance (per acre):
• Farmyard Manure (FYM): 4–5 tonnes during land preparation.
• Nitrogen (N): 40 kg (Apply half at sowing and half 30 days later).
• Phosphorus (P): 20 kg at the time of sowing.
• Potassium (K): 20 kg at the time of sowing.
5. Water Management
While Bajra is drought-resistant, critical stages for irrigation include:
• Tillering stage (20–25 days after sowing).
• Flowering stage.
• Grain filling stage.
Avoid water stress during these periods to prevent significant yield loss.
6. Weed and Pest Control
• Thinning: Perform thinning 10–15 days after germination to maintain the required plant population.
• Weeding: Conduct 1–2 hand weddings or use pre-emergence herbicides to keep the field clean during the first 30 days.
• Pest Control: Watch for Shoot Fly or Stem Borer. Use Neem oil or recommended bio-pesticides for organic-leaning production.7.
7. Harvesting & Yield
• Maturity: The crop is ready when the grains become hard and the moisture content drops below 20%.
• Expected Yield: * Grain: 12–15 quintals per acre (under good management).
• Dry Fodder: 30–40 quintals per acre.
